ROYALTY
This is a competition to see who can earn the most money through fundraisers of contestant’s choice. All proceeds are used for the yearly celebration, ranging from fireworks, kid games, to entertainment. Help is provided to get a good plan of action to start your fundraising. 

There are great prizes for all that sign up and finish the competition. Supporting the community also looks great on college applications. Winners will be announced July 3rd, at Weber Park. Contestants will ride the train in the parade on the 4th, and then will be announced again during opening ceremonies at the 4th of July celebration. 

There are 6 different categories:  
• King or Queen ages: 11 – 18
• Prince or Princess ages: 5 – 10
• Duke or Duchess ages 2 – 4
• Cutest Baby ages: newborn – 1 year

IMPORTANT DATES 1. Use the age you are on April,1,2017. 2. April,1,2017 is kickoff - you can start fundraising. 3. DEADLINE TO DEPOSIT MONEY INTO BANK FOR CREDIT – JUNE 30,2017 (Friday) @ 5:00 pm. – VERY IMPORTANT TO KEEP A COPY OF ALL DEPOSIT SLIPS WITH CONTESTANTS NAME ON SLIP. (PLEASE GIVE COPY TO TABITHA HENDERSON OR CHELSEA GARCHER by June 30,2017.) 4. Royalty announced July 3rd @ Weber Park, 6:00 pm, right before washer tournament under the tent. 5. Parade is July 4th; meet at airport by 8:30 AM. Candy will be provided to distribute. Vehicle and or trailer will be provided to ride in. Wear your tiaras and sashes.6. Immediately following parade will be opening ceremonies at Weber Park and prizes and checks will be given out. Any chance drawing you do the drawings for would be done at this time. * What to wear : Something red, white and or blue if you can:)
STEPS TO GET STARTED :
1. Formulate a plan of action: fundraising. 2. Find your sponsors.( Ask them face to face with your candidate present if they are too young to do this part on their own, or if they need more support. )If and when you find a sposor to sponsor you, sit down with them and decide what they will do to help. Just donate money for a fundraiser or help with one, or maybe donate a great chance drawing gift. Every sponsor is different. 3. Please keep us informed of your fundraisers just to help keep things running smooth. This can be done with our Facebook page: Pick n Hoe.
4. Jars can be done and set out if you want to but not required. It does help out and promotes you and your sponsor. (name, picture, category, year and sponsor .)
IMPORTANT INFORMATION :
1. Printed deposit slips will be provided. They are in triplicate :The bank gets one copy, you keep one copy and the 3RD one you need to give to: TABITHA HENDERSON OR CHELSEA GARCHER OR MAIL TO : P . O. Box 158 DOVE CREEK. COLORADO 81324 to keep for you and for the records. PUT CONTESTANST NAME ON EVERY SLIP !!!(This will help keep everything accounted for.) 2. Chance drawings are a great money- maker. DO NOT CALL YOUR CHANCE DRAWING A RAFFLE DRAWING – VERY IMPORTANT. 3. You can put ads of things you are doing in the Dove Creek Press under classified for free. Please make sure and use it to announce things you are doing, due Monday by noon weekly. 4. Bring in a picture of candidate to Dove Creek Press ASAP please for paper. 5. By making a plan of the events that you are going to do, when and where helps you stay organized and on task.( We want you all to do well and it sure benefits our town celebration. ) 6. Make sure and always display your sponsors. Show the town who supports you and your community celebration! 7. PLEASE BE COURTIOUS AND RESPECTFUL TO YOUR OPPONENTS, YOU ALL REPRESENT OUR COMMUNITY.
